The incoming and out going guards sign in and sign out respectively and these signatures are later on followed by the signature of Officers, Supervisors and Area Manager. We maintain in the diary a sequential record which cannot be tampered with or fabricated.
During the day the rotation from post to post is not emphasized and depends on the activity on the site. However during night hours a great emphasis is laid in rotating the posts every two hours in order to maintain the gravity at every posts. By this practice it has proved that the security guard remains alert by the change of environment. Moreover, conniving with any person with mischievous intentions is ruled out.
In any case the incoming guards sign the diary and the outgoing signs for leaving the post the patrolling staff as well as the officer on duty will also be conducting rounds and signing the diaries from time to time. Such rotation in security post will keep the post alive and maintain a high order vigilance by the security personnel at the post.
Should the administration department of your company notice some of the guards faltering at any time the administration department must put in a remark in diary held with the security guard mentioning the date and time of their observations made. Immediate action will be taken by the officer as this will come to light no sooner the patrolling staff signs the diary. This will help in immediately correcting their misconduct or slackness on duty on part of the security personnel.
While much emphasis is laid on cultivating the minds of security personnel and developing them into smart security guards it si extremely important to retain them on the site. Once security guards are well trained, they attempt for jobs in companies where they are likely to be paid higher.
It becomes imperative to ensure that the security guards are paid reasonable wages. We would request the company to bear in mind that the security guards must be paid reasonable wages and are covered by all statutory obligations.
At the same time certain facilities at site are important which must be catered for in order to retain the security personnel.
As a normal practice Security guards are rotated out of the premises between every fourth and the sixth month. A schedule is chalked out and security guards are phased out gradually so that the change over is smooth. There is every likelihood of security guard coming in to serve his second term at your company in the normal course of rotation.
